For good health children should eat at least one serving of fruit. If you are 4 to 7 years of age, eat at least two serves of vegetables, or if you are 8 to 11 years of age eat at least 3 servings of vegetables everyday. You can eat more fruit and vegetables if you want to.

How big is a serve?

One serve of fruit = 1 small apple = 1 small pear = 1 small orange = 2 medium apricots = 2 small plums = _ cup chopped fruit

One serve of vegetables = 1 medium potato = _ cup chopped vegetables = 2 tablespoons chopped vegetables = 1 cup salad

Print out this page and check how much fruit and vegies you are eating.
Ask an adult at your place if you can check the serves of vegies you are having in your meals and snacks. You will need a tablespoon or a measuring cup. Check how many tablespoons or cups of vegies you have on your plate.
You can add up the number of serves of fruit and vegetables you have in one day. Don’t forget to add the salad that goes into a sandwich or the fruit salad that you have for dessert.
